The Adderley Tea Estate's antiquity is competed with it's rich heritage. Founded in 1855 by Thomas Stannes, Adderley started out as a coffee plantation. The crop failed due to pests and diseases. In 1897, the coffee plants were scrapped and tea cultivation successfully started. There was no looking back after. The tea garden is located at a 4500-6000 ft elevation in Nilgiri district of Tamil Nadu, India. The tea produced is orthodox hand-rolled.
